Anna Keleher

Anna Keleher's current art practice investigates the nature of perception, creativity and process. Operating at the interface between art and earth science, she uses found objects, pre-printed materials and scenic elements to create a sequence of montages, mini dioramas and macro environments, both in the studio and in the natural environment.

Working in the environs of the pond at Middle Rocombe Farm, Anna is exploring themes of transience, precariousness and creative adaptability to environmental change. The pond area is transformed into an interactive, contemplative art space where visitors can experience results emerging from her live research.

'Part of the interest of operating in the pond was the knowledge that my creation would be subject to flooding. I knew that my powers of creative adaptation would be put to the test; I would need tenacity if my project was to survive.'

A site inspired project offers increased opportunity to explore the space between the intimate act of creating art and its exposure to the public. To highlight this, Anna is documenting happenings at the pond over a period of several months. This digital production forms an organic part of the whole work, crucial to the emergence of meanings:

'Part of the excitement of what is essentially a revelatory process is to discover the balance between revealing and obscuring, orchestrating the evidence in order to enhance the interchange between the artist, viewer and piece.'
