'It was at last year's Art Farm Project that I had a very interesting conversation with Peter Redstone about the decline of the dairy industry and how we are becoming increasingly reliant on dairy imports from Denmark and the rest of the E.U. Struck by the feeling of 'what once was' and 'what will never be again', I have chosen explore these themes in farming as a whole.'

Marcus Parnell's mixed media abstract work fuses traditional painting and drawing skills with digital imaging techniques. 'I aim to combine photography, drawing and texture to evoke rich and atmospheric images that blur the boundaries between traditional and digital media.'

For this year's Art Farm Project, Marcus aims to investigate the beauty of dereliction and the defunct through texture, line and colour.
