Suzanne Sanders

Suzanne Sanders' work is embedded in spiritual practice. Suzanne is a self taught contemporary painter of skies, seascapes, angels and abstract patterns, Following her training as a spiritual healer in 2001, her paintings changed completely, enlivened by energies of colour and light.

Key to Suzanne's work is her intent. 'The paintings act as a beacon. They are about stopping time, stopping thought, stopping everything to create a moment of spaciousness.' As a result, her work often evokes a sense of peace, remarkably, even in those unable to see them - a visually impaired young man reported feelings of peace and tranquillity in the work, resonating with the intent behind the colours.

For the Art Farm Project, Suzanne has regularly visited Middle Rocombe farm to photograph sunset skies from the fields, catching the changing colours from autumn through spring. Interpreting the photographs through paint to represent the 'feel' of the time (which may or may not translate into an image of the sky), seeks to bring the energy of these seasons into the summer project.

Alongside her painting practice, Suzanne runs workshops with adults, teaching people to work intuitively with colour. She focuses on working with carers, nurses and teachers to re-inspire and re-empower those who support and care for others.
